I pinned this great tutorial about 5 weeks ago.  I made it last week.  Follow me on Pinterest to find some other cool things I’ve pinned lately!

I’ve always wanted an advent calendar.  I’ve always wanted to MAKE the advent calendar that my family would use.  I just haven’t really seen a tutorial on one that made me go “ah ha!” and want to make it.  Until now.

I sat all of my boys down around the kitchen table and we made this a family craft-together.  Here is a picture of Niko using the 1″ hole punch to make the perfect circles in the scrapbooking paper for the calendar.

The 1″ hole punch was good for the red and green darker papers, but we needed something a little bigger for the glittery papers that go behind them.  I used this mason jar as a guideline, and then cut the circles out using some scalloped edge scissors.

Here it is in the end.  We used little magnets to hold the circles in place.  Yes, I made a big goof up by not alternating the colors correctly on the bottom row.  Oh well.  LOL  We have plans on filling each little nook on this with money, candy, or little notes to the boys telling them how much we love them!

  3. Love it! I just made a Christmas advent myself. It’s a little different than yours, but my inspiration also came from Pinterest. That site is so much fun…and addicting!
