I thought it’d be nice to have a page dedicated to pictures and information about my family. I talk about them all the time on the blog, since they are pretty much my life! <3! :) Not all of you have been reading my blog since I started it back in 2007, though, so I thought it’d be nice to have some information all in one place.

My name is Catrina, and I grew up outside of a very small town in Western NY.  I have a great love of nature, history, paranormal romance, computers, and of course, crafting.  I am currently a stay at home mom, and an awesome one at that! LOL

We live on a little over 11 acres of land in the middle of grape country in WNY.  We have raised or are raising pigs, chickens, goats, and more.  We have plans on having a fully working, and possibly somewhat self sustaining farm at some point in the future.  Right now, we just do what we can with what we have.  A big garden, a couple farm animals, and lots of room for our boys to run.

I come from a very close-knit family.  My aunts, uncles, cousins, their children and more all get together a lot throughout the year.  I love that my children are growing up knowing their great aunts & uncles, their cousins, their cousins 2 times removed (or however you calculate it).  Family is so very, very important to me.

The Husband And I

My hubby, Nick, and I met through Yahoo Personals back in 1999. Yes, I swear, we really did! We are coming up on our 11th wedding anniversary this September! Holy cow! That makes me feel old! LOL!
He grew up in the suburbs, and I grew up surrounded by cornfields. When we got married, we dreamed of lots of kids, and lots of land to let them grow up on!

It took us a while, and lots of help from a wonderful fertility doctor, but we finally conceived with our first son, Timmy.

TIMMY

Timmy is now 7 and is an incredible boy! He loves everyone. He is so incredibly smart. He loves video games, Trio blocks, Legos, and his puppy, Snoopy. Timmy has Autism, and it has caused some hurdles in his life.  We’re teaching him out to jump those hurdles … or how to slow down and walk around them if need be.  We’ve had a lot of issues with the school, and I’ve blogged about it quite a bit.  Right now, though, we seem to be doing well with the school.  I’m cautiously optimistic that things will continue to go well with them.  We have Timmy on a gluten free diet, and it does wonders for his concentration and behavior.
 NIKO

A year and a half after Timmy was born, our sweetie Niko came along. (No more fertility issues, that is for sure! LOL) Niko has the biggest heart of any child I’ve ever met. If someone is crying, he is over there holding them. He hates to hurt anyone’s feelings. He is also the most adventurous child I’ve ever met. If it can be climbed, he’s climbed it. (Ask the mother-in-law about her stone fireplace!) He is a HARD worker. He goes out and stacks wood with my hubby. He helps feed the farm animals. He helps shovel the driveway. He does soooo much. And he loves it. He gets all upset if he can’t go out and help Daddy do the chores!

ADRIAN

A year after Niko was born, our little Adrian came along. Yes, I am that crazy. 3 kids in 3 years. LOL …and ALL boys! Adrian is our mischievous little stinker. :) He is definitely the baby of the family, but we are trying VERY hard to get him out of the baby talking and stuff. Adrian has Celiac Disease and is on a gluten free diet. He’s been on a gluten free diet since he was 10 months old.

  1. I stumbled across your blog on Fun on a Dime’s linky. I’m sooo glad I did because your “autism blogs” label caught my eye. I, too, have a son with autism and I am excited to follow you. I hope you’ll come visit my blog when you get a chance. :)

  2. Thanks for sharing your blog with me on Google+! I am a mom of four autistic kids and love reading about others’ experiences who can relate! You sound like a great mom and when I will definitely be reading your entries whenever I can steal a few minutes of “me” time :) . I am especially interested in homeschooling, even though my kids are in school, I work with them at home as well using a method called RPM (Rapid Prompting Method) to boost them academically and increase their communication skills. Thus far it has worked wonders!
I look forward to reading your blog and wish you the best!
